Yet another grief David faced for his sin with Bathsheba happened during the time he was once again running for his life, this time from his own son, Absalom. It was at this point that a random relative of Saul’s saw David walking by and started railing on his, cursing him and throwing rocks at him and throwing dirt in the air. This dude was upset.
While one of David’s men eagerly begged the king to allow him to lop the guy’s head off, David wouldn’t agree. If the king’s own son was after him, why bother with a relative of a former enemy?
