Jesus told a parable about this very thing, with a master sending several messengers to check on his servants, only for those messengers to be sent away, abused or even killed. Eventually that master sent his son, and they killed him, too. Jesus told this prophesying of when He, the Son sent by the Master, would be slaughtered for the sins of the world. Whoever will acknowledge Him as the Son of God, and will believe in His death, burial and resurrection for them personally will have everlasting life. If you haven’t done that yet, you can do it right where you are now.
