When you lament over something, you are expressing your sorrow, and Jeremiah was expressing his sorrow for the nation of Israel.

(Charity: If the cook can’t cook, then I guess a lamentation can be a food, heh heh.  Also, I feel like you jumped ahead, Ive.)

    Don’t assume, please.  I was going to ask the quizzer about the specific event happening in Israel.

    Indeed, I was.  Quizzer, what was going on in Israel that troubled Jeremiah enough to write this book?
